East Coast land lease developer alters plans for retirement units

1 min read

Allswell Communities had planned to replace 122 holiday van sites with 80 retirement living units at its Coastal Palms Holiday Park in Shoalhaven Heads on the NSW South Coast.

They will now retain 20 short-term sites while the other 110 vans will be removed, angering the residents who will be evicted.

Under NSW law, long-term casual occupants of a holiday park have the right to rent a site for 12 months, after which time the park owner can order them to vacate the site with a minimum of 90 days’ notice.

Allswell has seven land lease communities across QLD, NSW and VIC, five co-located with holiday parks, but they clearly see retirement living as the growing market.
