Knowles Group’s Sencia to start building its second retirement community this month

1 min read

The Knowles Group, owner of aged care provider Arcare, has returned to the retirement village sector with a new brand Sencia.

After opening The Breeze at Point Lonsdale, on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula in 2019, Sencia will start building a 206-villa retirement community in the Huntlee Estate, North Rothbury, the NSW Hunter Valley’s first new town in 50 years, which is expected to be home to 20,000 residents on completion.

Sencia’s Green Ridge community is expected to house over 300 residents in a range of two- and three-bedroom villas. Each villa will have a double garage and storage available.

“Our focus is to provide generous and sustainable homes within a community that provides connection and a vibrant lifestyle. As an Australian owned and operated business with extensive experience in retirement living, we have seen firsthand the social and physical benefits to residents living within a thriving community and we look forward to bringing this project to life in the Hunter Valley,” said Sencia CEO Stuart Moore (pictured inset).

The smallest villa will be 145sqm and the largest 168sqm plus generous outdoor dining within low maintenance gardens.

Sencia stated it already has strong interest in the Stage 1 release of 27 villas and will be building a $6 million 1,400sqm clubhouse as part of the first stage. The clubhouse will feature amenities such as a heated indoor pool, outdoor spa, gym with HUR equipment, group exercise rooms, consulting suites, piano bar, commercial kitchen, indoor dining, covered outdoor dining, lounge, library and cinema.

It is understood that Sencia has three sites to develop in VIC and NSW. Two down, one to go.
