The local Manera family has spent 47 years amalgamating 246ha at Elliott Head, on the mouth of the Elliott River, 20kl east of Bundaberg.
They joined forces with Sydney based property developer Stan La Vin nearly eight years ago, seeking approvals and finance to develop the site into 3,200 homes, a retirement village and 19.5ha RV park, which may become a land lease community.
They are also looking at two supermarkets and two schools.
The new ‘suburb’ will be called Southbeach.
