Dana Maree Gray, 59, had pleaded guilty to assaulting the 85-year-old resident after footage of the incident was recorded on a GoPro camera placed in the resident’s room by a concerned co-worker.
She was sentenced to 17 months' imprisonment with a non-parole period of six months for inflicting “gratuitous cruelty” on the woman
“It seemed to me that all your frustrations, all your anger was taken out on this lady,” the Magistrate in the case said.
A justifiable punishment then.
