QLD developer Philip Usher Constructions has lodged a development application for a 220-unit retirement village in Holland Park West, south-east of Brisbane’s CBD.

Brisbane City Council’s updated Norman Creek Flood Study, which mentions the proposed development, said a report prepared by Intelara Pty Ltd at the request of Philip Usher Constructions supported the proposal.

However up to 50% of the site is at “high likelihood” of flooding, according to the council’s Flood Awareness Map.

“We are continuing to work through detailed design; however, due to current challenges in the construction market, we have not established a target start date,” a spokesperson for Philip Usher Constructions said.

“Flooding and flood impacts were thoroughly investigated and designed for through the development assessment process, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the future residents of the community will be maintained.”
