Providence Lifestyle wins approval for land lease community with aged care next door
Providence gets go-ahead for 190-home resort
- Approved: Wattle Grove resort cleared for development
- 190 homes: New over-50s community planned for Perth’s east
- Resort living: Clubhouse, pool, spa, cinema and pickleball courts
- Housing boost: Helps free up family homes and supports adjacent aged care
The land lease community operator is changing the face of the sector in Western Australia.
Now Providence Lifestyle has been given the green light to build Wattle Grove Lifestyle Resort in the suburb, 13km east of Perth’s CBD.

Providence Lifestyle Group Managing Director John Wood said the approval set the stage for on-site works to commence on the 15-hectare development within the coming months, with residential aged care planned for an adjacent site.
“With high demand for housing in Perth, and strong interest from our early market testing from locals in and around the foothills, this development will, provide 190 architecturally-designed homes in a thoughtful next generation community for active over 50s.
"It will be the best lifestyle resort of its kind in the eastern corridor of the Perth foothills, and it will facilitate the delivery of a 120-plus bed aged care development next door with St Judes (Healthcare Services)."
John said some initial works had already been completed.

“After two and a half years in the planning we are excited to bring the Wattle Grove Lifestyle Resort to life and to deliver yet another thriving community for Over 50s in the Perth foothills that will undoubtedly help free up larger homes for WA families,” John said.
The Resort will offer one-, two- and three-bedroom homes featuring solar panels and battery storage as well as a contemporary Clubhouse, pickleball courts, a bowling green, indoor heated spa and pool, sauna, dance floor, gym, vegetable garden, hobby workshop, cinema, music room, and more.
“As with our other communities, Wattle Grove Lifestyle Resort is being designed for active, healthy, early retirees and empty nesters and deliberately promotes social connection, which is vital for physical and mental wellbeing,” John said.
“Providence Lifestyle Group is excited to be at the forefront of revolutionising the land lease community model in WA and providing enhanced lifestyle options for downsizers and rightsizers.”
