Retirement living operator Aura Holdings taken to court over development on Gold Coast

1 min read

Four residents of an apartment block have taken Gold Coast City Council and retirement living operator Aura Holdings to court over its partially built development The Pavilion North Kirra.

Michael Sparksman, Glenn Stewart, Robert Snart and Colin O’Connor, who live in the neighbouring  Kirra Wave Apartments, claim the development is non-compliant with the City Plan and are spending over $200,000 to an appeal heard in the Queensland Land and Environment Court.

Aura Holdings, founded by Tim Russell and Mark Taylor in 2016, has five established or under construction locations in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. Demand for The Pavilion North Kirra has seen all 68 apartments in the first 10-storey building sell off-the-plan seven months before construction is due for completion.

The first building is finished. Construction of the second tower is yet to start.
