Shane Moran launches second luxury village on Sydney’s Upper North Shore

The nearly 120-year-old Rosemorran mansion in Wahroonga, 22km northwest of the Sydney CBD, will become the centrepiece of a new luxury retirement village ‘The Rose by Moran’ delivered by Dr Moran’s Provectus Care.

The 34 two- and three-bedroom premium residences designed by Antoniades Architects will be priced from $1.2 million to $3.4 million for a three-bedroom penthouse.

Each apartment will be available under standard retirement village terms with monthly fees and a DMF.

The former CEO of Moran Health Group, Dr Moran launched Provectus Care in 2001, building luxury aged care facilities in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, the Gold Coast and China.

His first venture into retirement living was the heritage-listed Darling House in The Rocks which has been transformed into nine apartments.

Dr Moran told The Australian the reason independent living estates have become so popular is because they offer community.

“It’s not just medical care or nursing support that people need, but it's the ability to have social interactions and to be in an engaging environment,” he says.

“Being in a place such as The Rose, you can be very private and independent but you’ve got neighbours who hopefully have similar interests and come from similar backgrounds to form friendships.”

The Rose by Moran apartments are due for completion by late 2020 with the mansion to be used as a communal space for residents.
