Leading Not For Profit in-home and aged care business Silverchain will take over providing aged care services from Moorabool Shire Council, in western Victoria, from 1 July.

The SOURCE reported in March that Moorabool Shire Council was the latest council to exit all funded Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) services as well as Regional Assessment Services after changes introduced by the then Morrison Government.

Silverchain, whose CEO is Dale Fisher (pictured), is the leading provider of complete in-home care services in Australia, supporting 105,000 people of all ages each year, across a range of services in their homes including hospital in the home, palliative care, aged care (Home Care Packages and Commonwealth Home Support Programme), allied health and social support, and virtual care monitoring.

In addition, Mecwacare has been appointed by the Victorian Government to provide care for shire council clients aged under 65 living with a disability.
