Victorian aged care provider Heritage Care plots 1,000 new beds in major expansion

The private operator says it is developing nearly 1,000 beds across its portfolio, with construction starting this month on a $32M aged care home in Epping, 26km north of the Melbourne CBD.

The new two-storey Epping Gardens site will house 148 beds – at a cost of around $215,000 a bed –.

Designed by Point Health Architects, the facility is expected to be completed by early 2018 and is being developed by McMullin Property, which also developed the adjacent Epping Medical Centre.

Heritage Care also has plans to re-develop its existing Chomley House facility in Prahran with a new design to feature allied health services including a full dental practice, consultation suites, physiotherapy, podiatry and massage.
