Benetas acquires aged care site at Keyton’s Sherwin Rise retirement village in VIC

Benetas will develop, own and operate a new residential aged care home within Keyton’s Sherwin Rise retirement village at Wollert, 25km north of Melbourne’s CBD – extending a continuum of care to village homeowners and the broader North Melbourne community.

Benetas CEO Sandra Hills OAM  said the Not For Profit looks forward to partnering with Keyton “to support older members of the community to age in place.”

Keyton CEO Nathan Cockerill said the on-site service would address a local gap.

“A Benetas residential aged care service will fill a much-needed gap by providing a continuum of care to both Sherwin Rise residents and the wider Wollert seniors community,” he said.

The move continues Benetas’ expansion in Melbourne’s north. In August, the provider acquired the co-located aged care home at its Bridgewater Lake Retirement Estate in Roxburgh Park, 21km north of the CBD, previously owned and operated by Moran Health Care Group – bringing Benetas’ residential aged care portfolio to 13 homes.

Sherwin Rise is one of Keyton’s growth villages in the City of Whittlesea corridor, an area experiencing strong demand from downsizers and ageing households. Keyton operates 75-plus retirement villages nationally, home to around 17,000 residents.
