South Australian aged care provider ECH (Enabling Confidence at Home) has announced it is partnering with education provider SA Montessori to offer an intergenerational program at its new vertical retirement village.

As part of ECH’s Encore Apartments, which is scheduled to open in Modbury, 16km northeast of Adelaide CBD, late this year, Echoes Montessori early learning centre will open in January 2022.

“We have been working with SA Montessori for over three years and are thrilled to have the organisation as part of our new vertical village community, giving residents and children the opportunity to interact and develop genuine friendships,” said ECH CEO Dr David Panter.

“The benefits of intergenerational activities are vast, including learning and practising new skills, gaining an improved sense of purpose, sharing ideas and strengthening social skills, in turn, enhancing wellbeing.”

Nearly 50% of the 77 two-bedroom apartments, from $215,000, are already under contract.
