Churches of Christ in Queensland has lodged a development application proposing an extension to its existing aged care home in Little Mountain, on the Sunshine Coast, 94km north of Brisbane.

The DA was submitted to the Sunshine Coast Regional Council following the approval of a 96-bed aged care home in 2017.

The new DA is looking to extend the aged care site with a four-storey building housing 32 one-bedroom units, 8 two-bedroom units and 8 one-bedroom and a pair of two-bedroom residential care units.

The two-bedroom residential care facility units allow for a carer to be able to stay overnight providing 24-hour care.

Churches of Christ in Queensland are also proposing a men’s shed on the site, with the first stage of the development expected to be completed by August of 2022, if approved.

The organisation also lodged a second DA for a 94 dwelling retirement village across two buildings and a third proposing a men’s shed.

Churches of Christ Queensland have 28 aged care homes across Queensland.
