Local residential developer Highgate Developments has lodged a development application for a 275-home land lease community in Highworth, approximately 20km west of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast and 105km north of Brisbane.
If approved, the $70 million land lease community – operating under Highgate’s land lease vehicle Grove Retirement – will take approximately five years to construct with the build split over 15 different stages.
Highgate’s Andrew Pitcher told the Sunshine Coast Daily that the location, just 2km from Nambour Hospital, would prove a drawing point for retirees.
“COVID has been good for the Coast in terms of people are looking for that sea-change and tree-change opportunity,” he said.
The Grove has two other residential estates in development also on the Sunshine Coast.
