With its first two luxury retirement developments under construction, the new vision of the founders of Oak Tree Group is continuing to take shape.
Newcastle-based Mars Building has started construction on Kado Residences Anna Bay, a $28 million five-storey retirement development comprising 32 apartments across two interconnected wings. The development was approved by Port Stephens Council in 2024.
Mark Bindon, Franco DePasquale and Melissa Luck are behind Kado Group, which was first revealed by Mark during an address to delegates at LEADERS SUMMIT 2024.
Its Palm Beach development on Queensland’s Gold Coast is currently under construction and will deliver 28 apartments across seven levels, with prices ranging from $2.725 million to $3.295 million. Kado expects to open a display apartment later this year, with the project scheduled for completion in 2027.
The group is also developing a 25-apartment retirement community in Coffs Harbour on the NSW Far North Coast, where apartments are priced from $1.875 million to $3.15 million.
Anna Bay is the third project in Kado’s growing pipeline of boutique retirement developments.
Kado has listed its Dune apartments in Anna Bay, which offer three bedrooms and two bathrooms across 252sqm, for $3.25 million.

The smaller Solace apartments, featuring two bedrooms and two bathrooms over 132sqm, are priced from $1.85 million.
CoreLogic data tracks Anna Bay as a coastal lifestyle market with a median house value hovering around the $1 million to $1.1 million mark.
The over-60s development will feature a snooker room, beautician’s room, gym and sauna, swimming pool and communal gardens with dining areas.
“The development will also incorporate integrated wellness spaces, including features such as salt therapy rooms and other specialised amenities,” a spokesperson said.
Construction is expected to take around 18 to 20 months, with the development scheduled for completion in 2028.
