The 6-star rating for Bernborough Ascot, nestled on Doomben Racecourse (pictured), was awarded by the Green Building Council because of the development’s focus on design, renewable energy and water efficiency, landscaping, heritage and community.
The integrated retirement living community, which we have reported on here, is being constructed in stages, with the first being opened in October 2020.
Upon completion, Bernborough Ascot will feature 300 large luxury independent living apartments and penthouse style homes.
Apartments range in price from $647,000 for a two bedroom and 1.5 bathroom dwelling up to $1.1 million for three bedroom and two-bathroom apartments.
Included in the build was the relocation of a 140-tonne weeping fig tree which took months to prepare and shift.
