Luxury village developer Marston Living looks to alter plans for 76-unit retirement village in Sydney’s semi-rural Hornsby Shire

The new operator has lodged an application to modify roadwork plans for its second village in Galston, 36km northwest of the Sydney CBD.

Marston Living is a subsidiary of Marston Group, which has built luxury homes throughout Sydney’s North Shore and Northern Beaches. Its first village at Beacon Hill on Sydney’s Northern Beaches was completed in 2017 and has just 32 units.

It is managed by Australian Retirement Partners, which manages around 12 villages across Sydney. ARP was founded by Laurelle Lawson, who previously managed a portfolio of retirement village assets for both the Gandel Group and Sakkara Living.
The Galston village was originally approved in the Land and Environment Court in January 2012 before being divided into three stages in 2014.

Now with the first 10 villas under construction, Marston is looking to move the construction of central median islands, pedestrian refuges, bus stops and footpaths on Galston and Mid-Dural Roads to be completed prior to Stage 3 of the development.

Stage 1 of the development is sold out and due to be completed in June this year with the second stage now being sold and expected to be completed in December 2021.

The modifications are now being considered by the Sydney North Planning Panel.
