Ozcare launches new vertical Brisbane village with co-located aged care for 2023

Not For Profit Catholic operator Ozcare is set to open a new co-located retirement and aged care development in the inner northern Brisbane suburb of Newstead next year.

Dubbed Rendu Towers, after 19th-century Daughter of Charity Rosalie Rendu, the project will have 53 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments in its first-stage North Tower, with the second-stage South Tower to host an additional 82; the vertical village will also contain the Villa Rosalie aged care facility.

According to Ozcare, the project aims to deliver continuum of care to residents through both the Villa Rosalie home and through home care offered at exclusive rates.

“Rendu Towers’ location is deeply rooted within Newstead’s industrial and urban heritage. This, along with Ozcare’s over 25-year history and Catholic ethos, inspired the selection of a name that not only had genuine meaning but equally reflected the importance of community.

“Rosalie Rendu was an inspiring and remarkable woman who dedicated her life to helping others and those in need,” the provider said.

The first stage is set to open a stone’s throw from Aveo’s similar Newstead development in early 2023, with a sales and display suite coming in September this year.
