Traders in Purple engages Burnie Brae to deliver ‘community’ into its Community Apartment Project Brisbane high rise campus

1 min read

Private developer Traders in Purple proposes to develop a 7,500sqm village, including 100-unit retirement village plus 103 apartments, a community care centre and childcare centre over two buildings at Mitchelton, 8km from the CBD. The development is over three apartment buildings ranging from seven to 10-storeys in height.

Called ‘Wilshire Village’, the site is adjacent to the Brookside Shopping Centre and will be designed to the Gold or Platinum Standard under the Australian Design Guidelines according to the developer.

Combined, the three buildings, will offer 35,000sqm of residential floor space to retirees and will sit above two basement levels of car parking for 400 vehicles.

The proposed residential village, known as Wilshire Village, will be delivered over two stages and will offer more than 200 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.

Positioning the project as a Community Apartment Project for the Over 55 Baby Boomers, it will feature a 130sqm recreation hall to be run by well-known community services provider Burnie Brae, who will deliver a range of wellbeing and community-based activities and care programs.
