Two 12-level aged care facilities flagged for Perth development site

The landowner of a site formerly home to a brickworks operation is looking for a buyer and developer to help complete his plans for a 2,380-apartment “self-contained city” in Beckenham (13 kilometres south-east of Perth CBD).

The WA Planning Commission approved Mr Ian Johnson’s plans for the site late last year – which in addition to two aged care facilities also include a supermarket, childcare and office space, bars and restaurants.

Mr Johnson purchased the site seven years ago and is now seeking $40 million for it before handing it over to a developer who can move forward with the proposal, which he says will cost an estimated $450 million.
