Breaking from the proven formula of (mostly) regional horizontal villages, Mark Bindon’s Oak Tree plans to build the new vertical village just 200m from the Pelican Water Coles & Woolworths, and 8kl south of Caloundra.
It will be their 30th village.
Bindon was in Dubbo today and told us that his meetings with prospective residents demonstrates that there is an increasing interest in the retirement village product and that the new village resident culturally loves the DMF contract, having the product today and paying for it tomorrow.
He and his partners established Oak Tree in 2004. First State Super purchased 70% in June this year and is keen to fund 15 new villages over the next two years.
